THE SUCCESSFUL INVESTIGATOR WILL HAVE:
AN INQUIRING MIND
This is a must if you want to be successful. The accident investigator will be required to examine a whole series of stated facts presented and use his/her professional investigation skills to establish the true facts.
TO BE ABLE TO WORK WITHOUT SUPERVISION
For the most part accident investigators work on their own initiative, conducting interviews, site visits examining evidence, etc. Obviously, they have to be trusted to complete their enquiries in a professional manner without the need for constant supervision.
TO BE ABLE TO WORK AS PART OF A TEAM
A great many people may be part of an investigation to a greater or lesser extent. These may include the claimant, their legal firm, witnesses, barristers, the prosecution service, insurance companies, employers, local councils, etc. the work completed by the accident investigator may affect any or all of these agencies/people.
TO BE FLEXIBLE WITH THEIR TIME
Just before completion of the course Dennis was offered employment (£26k per annum) taking statements from injured people and witnesses.
TO BE ABLE TO PRODUCE DETAILED REPORTS
By use of the sample reports provided and worked through on the course, the accident investigator will be able to produce professional reports.
To ensure success, the accident investigator must have a great deal of common sense. Everything else we can teach.
